Vineyard Cafe: “You like me, you really like me!”

So said Sally Field in her 1984 Oscar acceptance speech. While we are unlikely to be quite as gushing as her, we would like to thank everyone who voted for us, since we are now the proud recipients of two awards: Runner Up for both City Weekend Reader Award’s ‘Best New Restaurant of the Year’ and ‘Best European Restaurant’.

If you did vote for us, a MASSIVE thanks for your support, and if you didn’t, may the fleas of a thousand dogs infest your arm pits…. ;)

And a few days later: in the July issue of City Weekend, we are pleased to report that we have been listed as the top non-hotel Brunch destination. Many thanks to City Weekend magazine for choosing us.

City Weekend - Top 5 Non-Hotel Brunch Destinations: Vineyard Cafe was rated the number one top non-hotel destination in City Weekend magazine in July 2007.

These posts first appeared on the Vineyard Cafe blog on 6 and 10 July 2007. Vineyard Cafe was the restaurant I opened in a Beijing hutong in 2006 with Will and Xuduan; its blog is long gone, so I have brought it back here. See the whole Vineyard Cafe story.
