All Things Pebble now has a directory of open source watchfaces and apps

All Things Pebble is my website that aims to collect together all the great Pebble smartwatch resources across the web, and I’ve been gradually adding to it over time. Now it has a new app directory that lets you browse all the open source apps and watchfaces out there for Pebble, including links to their source code. Hopefully it will be a useful resource for aspiring developers looking to learn from each other’s work.
Browse by watchface, app or developer
The Pebble Watchfaces and Pebble Apps pages currently list 2,710 watchfaces and 1,581 apps. Each one has a screenshot and a link to the app in an app store, plus a View source link to its code, so you can see how it was made. Cards also show:
- the developer
- the source code’s licence
- the latest version
- when it was first released and last updated
- which watches it runs on
The lists update themselves every week. They include every watchface and app in the Pebble App Store that links to its source code, followed by any others from the Rebble App Store. Open source apps that aren’t in either store can be added by hand. An app that leaves the stores stays listed for as long as its source code is still online.
The licence badge is worth a look if you plan to reuse someone’s code. “No licence” means you can read the code and learn from it, but you don’t have permission to reuse it.
The developers behind them
Pebble Developers gives each developer their own page, about 2,500 of them so far, with everything they’ve made. You can sort a page by release date, update date or name, and filter it to just watchfaces or apps. It also links to their app store page and their code hosting profile, where those are known.
All the other Pebble resources
The directory sits alongside the rest of the site, which gathers the wider Pebble world into one place:

- Core Devices: the new Pebble watches, apps, developer resources and repos.
- Rebble Alliance: the community keeping Pebble alive, with its web services, app store, developer resources and repos.
- Development: SDKs, build tools, languages, libraries and integrations.
- Art & Design: design tools, fonts, icons and graphics utilities.
- Hardware: smartstraps, 3D prints and other hardware resources.
- Community: forums, companion apps, translation, education and news.
- Pebble Technology Corporation: the original company’s history and archives, repairs and the original watches.
Let me know what you think
Let me know if you find it useful, and if something is missing, pull requests are welcome. Each section is a Markdown file in the GitHub repository, so adding a link is a one-line pull request.
If you’ve made a watchface or app that’s in the Pebble or Rebble App Store, you don’t need to do anything here. Add a link to your source code in your app’s store listing, and it will appear after the next weekly update. About the App Lists explains how the lists are made, and how to add an app that isn’t in either store.
I also shared the directory on r/pebble.
Support my work
I make things like this because I believe in open protocols and open source: they can help make the web, and so the world, a better place, and the web shouldn’t be owned and controlled by billionaires. Building and maintaining them takes real time, often my working hours. If you find All Things Pebble useful, please consider sponsoring me on GitHub or buying me a coffee on Ko-fi: it helps me keep it up to date.
All Things Pebble is an independent project, not made or endorsed by Core Devices or the Rebble Alliance.
