Vineyard Cafe: Introducing Vineyard Cinema

Many months ago we purchased a projector for our back room with great plans for its use. However, apart from one event here and the occasional use for an office party it has hung lifeless from the beam in our back room, gathering dust and generally looking somewhat neglected. Until now.

Starting next week, thanks to a push from our staff member An Yang (our resident film buff!), we will begin screening a series of classic movies. Recent visitors to the restaurant will no doubt have a few hints by the posters now adorning our walls. ;)

These are the posters for the films we showed over the following months, from a Burt Lancaster season to Christmas classics, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and a kung fu season.

This post first appeared on the Vineyard Cafe blog on 18 November 2007, with the album of posters added as the screenings went on. Vineyard Cafe was the restaurant I opened in a Beijing hutong in 2006 with Will and Xuduan; its blog is long gone, so I have brought it back here. See the whole Vineyard Cafe story.
